  • Our Certificate IV Upgrade Program (TAE40166 to TAE40122). This is for anyone who holds a TAE40116 qualification,  is currently working as a Trainer and Assessor, or has been actively working as one in the last 2 years,  and wants to transition to the most current TAE40122 qualification.
  • If you have current experience and previous TAE qualifications you may be able to utilise our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) pathway to the TAE40122. With this pathway, we create an individual program that includes being able to award the units where we can confirm your your knowledge, skills and experience. If you have any units that are considered "equivalent" from past qualifications, we also include these units and then give you the coursework for any units that aren't able to be covered by RPL or CT. Our TAE40122 RPL and CT program option is available now and is the most efficient way possible for experienced people like you. Speak to our Course Advisors now to see if you have what you need to use this pathway to the full TAE40122 qualification.

How Difficult Is A Certificate IV?

The Australian Qualification Framework provides guidelines to the learning outcomes for each AQF level and qualification type. The level of difficulty of a Certificate IV should be aligned with the requirements of the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 4 (out of 10 levels).

Regarding difficulty, we want to be transparent with you and let you know that the Certificate IV TAE is one of the more extensive courses you will complete as there is a lot of terminology and new knowledge and skills that you will learn.

If you are already in a training role (even informally training workplace colleagues etc) then you will certainly be able to bring your existing skills and knowledge to the course, which will ensure that navigating the world of VET is a little less daunting.

The common thread is that the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is time-consuming.

How Difficult Is A Certificate IV?Is the Diploma a higher Qualification than the Cert IV?makes the dream work

The Australian Qualification Framework provides guidelines for the learning outcomes for each AQF level and qualification type. Diplomas sit at an AQF level 5 and are therefore a higher level qualification than a Certificate IV.

If you are looking to complete a Diploma rather than a Certificate IV, bear in mind that the TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training and TAE50216 Diploma of Training, Design and Development (both now superseded by the TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training) does require quite extensive evidence related to designing, delivering and assessing formal qualifications and leading other trainer and assessors in best practice, so holding the TAE40122 Certificate IV TAE and working for an RTO will ensure that you are able to complete all of the assessment requirements for the Diploma.
