TAE Skill SETS

The Fortress Learning TAE Skill Sets comprise Units of Competency from the TAE Training Package.

Completion of a Skill Set provides you with formal recognition of your competency without necessarily having to complete a full qualification.

Units of competency from your TAE Skill Set may provide credit towards the full Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

A Fortress Learning TAE Skill Set is valuable for:

  • Filling an identified skills gap without you needing to undertake a full qualification.
  • Providing you with formal recognition of competency attained, without having completed a full qualification.
  • Laying the foundation for further training in a TAE qualification.
  • In some instances, may give you the certification needed to commence training and assessing (under supervision) in the workplace (this is dependent upon the requirements of the employer).

What is e-learning in Education?

E-learning, also referred to as online learning or electronic learning, is the acquisition of knowledge that takes place through electronic technologies and media. We can define e-learning as broad in scope and including both online learning and aspects of blended learning. E-learning covers all forms of digital teaching and learning, both on campus and remotely.

Typically, e-learning is conducted on the Internet, where students can access their learning materials online at any place and time. E-Learning most often takes place in the form of online courses, online degrees, or online programs.

E-learning can be both asynchronous and synchronous.
Asynchronous learning allows you to learn on your own schedule, within a certain timeframe. You can access and complete online recorded videos, readings, homework and other learning materials at any time during a specific enrolment period. A big benefit to asynchronous classes is, of course, the flexibility.

For those students who still like to interact with a class full of people, synchronous online learning would be best. Synchronous learning means that although you will be learning from a distance, you will virtually attend a class session as scheduled by your RTO, at the same time as your Trainer and classmates. Much like a traditional classroom-based course, the online class is a firm, weekly time commitment that cannot be rescheduled.
